First Officer Mike, helps Captain Robert run down the PMDG Pre-Flight checklist. You'll hear the Captain speaking commands to the First Officer who faithfully carries out his instructions. Not once does the Captain touch a button on the keyboard, or use his mouse. In fact, the entire flight, from gate-to-gate, is carried out by the Captain's voice commands. All of this is made possible by the unique It's Your Plane software that works with both FS9 and FSX, on XP and Vista. The system contains all of the checklists: Pre-Flight Before Startup Startup Before Taxi Taxi Before Takeoff Take off and Climb out Cruising Descent Approach and Landing Taxi to the Gate/Ramp Parking Shutdown In addition to the PMDG 737, the system works with MOST of the Microsoft DEFAULT aircraft and many other FREEWARE and PAYWARE planes. http://www.ItsYourPlane.com

Aug 27, 2008 - "Is It Really Useful?" Obviously not for an expert PMDG commercial pilot like yourself. However, if you've never set foot in the cockpit of a PMDG 737, then It's Your Plane is a BLESSING, because it walks the Captain through every checklist item, step-by-step, from gate-to-gate. Ergo, "Is it really useful?" I suppose it depends upon whether or not you would like to "Fly By The Book"!

Oct 1, 2008 - I've purchased the Mike Ray full manual for the 737/3/4/5, a very usefull purhase if you want to fly the 737 an intended. The NG version is also available. As well as this I've just purhcased the 737/3/5 training video including proffeciency and FMC trainig and type rating training pdf manual.

Oct 29, 2008 - When the First Officer asks, "Do we want me to run through the Approach and Landing checklists?", and you answer in the affirmative, he/she will then ask, "Would you like me to assist you?" If you respond with "No thanks", or "Negative", then YOU (the Captain) get to execute ALL of the Landing procedures, with the First Officer merely calling out cautions on the way down. However, the First Officer is always there to assist with Rejected-Take Offs, Landing and Go-Around procedures.

PacificFeelings Says:

Oct 29, 2008 - If flight deck and cabin crew announcements to the passengers (both on the ground and during flight), cabin music, seat belt alerts to passengers during air turbulence, First Officer warnings to the Captain during the flight, In-Flight-Announcements to the passengers (patent pending), where the First Officer tells the passengers what they can see out of the left and right sides of the aircraft during the flight along with the local temperatures are of interest, then they NEED a First Officer.

Oct 29, 2008 - I truly doubt that a single pilot could routinely handle a commercial jetliner by themselves - BY THE BOOK. If one places serious emphasis on running through all of the checklists, namely: Pre-Flight, Before Startup, Startup, Before Taxi, Taxi, Before Takeoff, Takeoff, Climb Out, Cruise, Descending, Approach, Landing, Taxi to the Gate, Parking and Shutdown in a "Realistic Virtual" environment, they NEED a First Officer.
